I've been encountering a lot of human-machine convergence material lately, mostly fiction:
    • Metropolis (original film and more recent animated movie)
    • The Matrix
    • Bladerunner
    • Battlestar Gallactica (recent series)
    • People using ear-bud cellphone tranceivers
    • iRobot
What is the future of the relationship between humans and their machines? The ability of an old film like Metropolis to shock us into knee-jerk fear has given way to nuanced probing into the existential meaning of an erotic melding of humans and machines.
